Pakistan Wedding

In 1993, during my photography studies in Newport, Wales, I documented a local Pakistani family. I had been awarded the Alan Harper Bursary by the Financial Times for my new project.  I embarked on this Pakistan wedding photo essay with the family back to Pakistan to capture the weddings of their daughters. They were aged 15 and 17 and were born and raised in Wales. The series describes the unique narrative of these cross-cultural unions, bridging the gap between their Welsh upbringing and their Pakistani heritage.  This  is the story of two young girls caught between two cultures.
